NAISED KÖÖGIS – The Women in the Kitchen – is a singer-songwriter band from Estonia whose music consists of elements of both traditional and popular music.

“With their songs, Naised Köögis has become a special unit within our psychological defence”, Jüri Luik, former Minister of Defence in Estonia.

Our songs’ content range from the serious and moving to the irreverent as we explore a variety of personal and social issues that have touched or provoked us. We tell stories and create pictures with words and melodies, with honest, poetic, often humorous lyrics, set to tunes that can be anything from a waltz to a jenka, a tango or even a rap.

“After your concert I feel proud of being a woman and I realize that not only men can put truth in words or make you roar with laughter”, 29-year-old Brigitte from Viljandi.

With our songs and our warm and witty chat in either Estonian, English, Swedish or Finnish on stage, we have
developed a deep contact with our audiences both in Estonia and abroad ever since we came out on scene with our first album in 2015. We have released 4 CD’s and a retrospective vinyl. Also we gave out a songbook with our songs. We got our first Golden Record 2016 for the Best Newcoming Band.
At the Estonian Pop Music Awards Gala, Golden Record, our band got designated as
BAND OF THE YEAR 2023!

We have been awarded Estonian Folk Music award ETNOKULP twice.
